Nick and team are the only guys in the North West I would trust with my Classic Mercedes 200E. I don’t mind travelling the distance to use them as I know they’ll do the Job right first time every time ! I had used many others in the past to try and solve mysterious problems but it was only Nick who could solve it at low cost. Nick has many years experience working for Mercedes-Benz Main Dealerships. The walls are littered with certificates from MB. Nick and the other mechanics really do know their stuff. I’m reasonably spanner-handy and am a longstanding member of MBClub.co.uk and have a good knowledge of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, but still prefer to use Nick Webster.
If need be they can be very flexible and the prices are excellent. They works they have carried out on my 430 V8, 240 V6 and Vito V6 have been excellent.
One of the great things about this garage, in which some of Nick’s family work is that you can always speak with the gaffer who is very knowledgeable and a really nice guy to boot. I have used Nick Webster’s garage for a few years now as I had a Secondary Air Injection problem on my CLK 230 which, for 7 years had outwitted the two local Mercedes main dealerships.
I was recommended to Nick and within 10 minutes, yes 10 minutes, he felt he had the answer. He replaced the faulty part (not the S I valve) and said that if it did not cure the problem he would give me my money back. Needless to say my Merc is still going strong. I have just been to see him about a front wheel judder and after he tested it said that it was possibly the tracking. He did a full inspection and said ‘No Charge’ which was typical of him. His staff are always polite and extremely helpful.
My 1999 SLK recently developed an annoying intermittent fault that saw me calling out the RAC on several occasions. I took the car to Nick for help. Nick and his team really pulled the stops out to diagnose and rectify the problem trying various remedies to put me back on the road again.
Nick kept the car for extended test drives in his own time until he found the problem deep in the engine and transmission. My cherished old SLK is now up and running better than ever.
